Forearm Balance Tune Up
$20/per session; limited to 14 students per session.
In this series of mini-workshops, we will focus on “tuning up” your Headstand (Sirsasana), Handstand (Adho Mukha Vrksasana) and Forearm Balance (Pincha Mayurasana). Detailed instruction and skillful techniques will be suggested in order to add variety, make modifications, and entertain possibilities. We will demystify what actions are necessary to help you experience a safe and supported inverted and arm balancing practice. We will also work with dispelling fear and building courage.
Arm balances in general can help to increase strength, stability and agility. They are great poses to harness the power of concentration and focus while maintaining a playful and inspired attitude. Inversions are considered to be fundamental in any serious yoga practice. Many students fear, struggle and/or are confused about inversions and arm balancing poses. Lots of teachers no longer include them in mixed level classes.

Savonn’s approach to teaching is to provide skillful and detailed instruction, non-dogmatic and grounded inspiration, along with mindful intention and awareness. She weaves in many different styles and approaches to her creative sequencing and theme based classes.
She recognizes the importance of an integrated approach to health and wellbeing. She believes that yoga and other meditative and expressive arts are a great complement to athletic, professional and creative pursuits.
Her classes, workshops and retreats offer an opportunity to tap into the transformational energy present when a group comes together to practice without losing the power of personal inquiry and expression. Her one-on-one sessions help to better tailor a personal practice, to address individual concerns, modifications and questions, and to make sure the practice stays safe, nurturing and fun.
