Why do so many people want to stretch their hamstrings and hips? Why do some people’s heels lift when they squat?  Why is half-moon so easy for some and such a balance challenge for others? How can yoga stretch & strengthen the muscles of the lower body? This is a deeper dive into the anatomy and movement of the torso, hips, and knees. We’ll  review how major muscle groups contract and stretch in yoga poses and in common movements.  This course also covers hip rotation, anterior and posterior pelvic tilting and how the muscles in your torso work with your lower body.

This Weekend Intensive is part of Sellwood Yoga’s 300 Hour Advanced Studies Yoga Teacher Training Program as well as the “Deep Dive” Track.
