T’ART – Tea & Art: A Creative Pause for Mind, Body & Soul

May 6, 2025

by Nancy Matanic

In a world that moves fast and asks a lot from us, finding space to simply be can feel like a luxury. That’s exactly why T’ART – Tea & Art was created: to offer a calm, welcoming space where creativity and mindfulness meet.

This isn’t your typical art class. And it’s not a therapy session either. Instead, it’s something gently in between—a creative experience inspired by the principles of art therapy. No pressure. No perfection. Just simple, beautiful painting techniques that anyone can do, regardless of experience.

Art as a Tool for Wellness

We’ll focus not on creating a “perfect” final product, but on the process of painting itself—because that’s where the magic happens. These techniques are meditative and therapeutic in nature. Many participants are surprised by how beautiful their artwork turns out, but even more so by how peaceful they feel during and after the session.

Art has the power to unlock emotions, inspire self-expression, and calm the nervous system. It’s a powerful, yet often overlooked, wellness tool.

Creativity Belongs to Everyone

One of the biggest myths we encounter is that creativity is a rare gift reserved for a lucky few. The truth? We’re all creative. Whether or not you think of yourself as “artistic,” you’ll find this workshop accessible, fun, and deeply rewarding.

You’ll also leave with techniques you can use at home—whether to de-stress, support your journaling practice, or simply enjoy a few moments of mindful presence in your day.

Connection in a Disconnected World

Perhaps the most valuable part of this experience is the sense of connection it fosters. In a post-COVID world that can feel increasingly disconnected, T’ART is a chance to slow down and share space—real, heartfelt space—with others. We’ll talk, laugh, create, and share over cups of calming tea.
