My Kind of Happy Hour

Nov 3, 2025

When I think of happy hour, I think of friends laughing and connecting while letting go of the week’s stress.  Happy hour gives space to listen to each other unburden and in turn allowing the week to soften and dissolve.  This is the community I want to build on Friday nights.  It’s a date for yourself and permission to float into the weekend.
While in college I tried yoga at a gym.  At first I found yoga to be very slow and boring and I didn’t understand how anyone liked this kind of workout.  I wanted a challenge.  In those days, I was full of certainty but not yet full of understanding. Fast forward to Covid and a friend suggested a daily online yoga challenge.  Like sourdough starters and long walks, this became a rite of this time.  But I found myself with a longing to expand my practice in a studio and with a community.  In the summer of 2023, I was fortuitous to find Sellwood Yoga after moving to this part of town.  And in October of that same year, I signed up for their 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training and completed the program in March 2024.
My kind of happy hour is moving on a mat on a Friday night connecting with good company and good music to wrap up the week. It’s creating space, connecting, and having fun. Happy hour starts with an energizing Vinyasa flow, then slows down before ending with a restorative finish.  Come solo, bring your friends, or make it a date night!  It’s an uplifting way to say TGIF!  See you at happy hour on Friday nights  at 5:30 pm.  Sign up here here.
