Designed entirely for breast cancer survivors as an opportunity to create healing and body wellness in a 3-week series. Our practice will focus on slow movement, stretching and strengthening postures as well as working on body acceptance, restorative poses, and mindfulness. In all parts of this meditative and movement practice, we will connect our breath, body, and spirit. Breast Cancer Survivors of all ages, sizes, and levels (including new to yoga) are welcome to attend, as are those with injuries and therapeutic needs.
Instructor — Natalie Bowker
Natalie began practicing Yoga in her 20s and has had the opportunity to practice Yoga in many unique communities around the world. Whether she was teaching poses as a wilderness guide for at-risk youth, in an OB/GYN clinic with pregnant mamas, or with her two daughters in her own living room, Yoga has played a significant role for over half her life. Natalie is passionate about building inner strength from the way we think about and move in our bodies. She believes Yoga offers the opportunity to reduce stress and create healthier connections with ourselves and our world around us.
You will find her Yoga classes weave in elements of humor, compassion, and stillness. Natalie enjoys encouraging yet challenging her students to grow both in mind and body. She completed her 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training course at Sellwood Yoga, and plans to continue on to get certified in Pre/postnatal Yoga at Blooma Studio.
Instructor — Alivia Cetas
In her personal practice, Alivia has found yoga grounding and illuminating. As a physician, she appreciates the alignment, balance, and renewal from yoga. Alivia sees yoga as a valuable resource for those around her, nourishing the mind and body. She is grateful to have completed Sellwood Yoga’s 200-hour teacher training program in order to share yoga with others.
