We know there are a lot of creative people who practice at Sellwood Yoga — painters, musicians, sculptors, writers, photographers, dancers, and more. We’d love to get to know that side of you.
We’re launching a new series called Artist in the Community to spotlight the artists among us. The idea is simple: we want to share your story, your work, and what brings you to the mat.
What the series looks like
Each feature includes a social media post, a short blog piece on our website, and a few Stories or Reels giving people a peek into your creative world. We’ll also do a quick, casual photo and video session at the studio nothing overly produced, just you being you.
We’ll also have a dedicated space on the bulletin board inside the studio to highlight each featured artist. And depending on your medium, there may be ways to bring your work into the studio beyond the feature itself. For example, if you’re a visual artist interested in displaying your work on our walls, an author who’d like to do a reading, or a performer who wants to explore a short live performance at the studio, we’re open to ideas. Let’s talk about it.
If you have a show, release, open studio, or event coming up, we’d love to time your feature around it to help get the word out.
Who we’re looking for
Anyone who practices at Sellwood Yoga and makes something — any medium, any level. You don’t need a gallery or a record deal. If you have a creative practice that’s part of your life, we want to hear about it.
What to include in your submission
Send us an email (info@sellwoodyoga.com) with:
- A little about you and your work
- A link to your website or social media (if you have one)
- Any upcoming shows, events, or releases you’d like us to know about
We’ll follow up with you to talk through next steps. Before anything goes live, you’ll get to review everything and make sure it feels right.
Why we’re doing this
One of the things that makes Sellwood Yoga special is the people who show up here. This series is a way to celebrate that. To get to know or learn something new about the person on the mat next to you and to support each other’s work outside the studio.
We’re excited to see what you’re creating.
