Lara Christensen

Lara associates yoga practice with an inextricable movement towards healing. Through a lens focused on balance, Lara’s classes provide space for practitioners to nurture the self in their own movement choices. Lara completed her 200-hour teacher training course at Sellwood Yoga and her 300-hour advanced certification at the Center for Ayurveda and Yoga study with Ann Wagoner. In addition to teaching Vinyasa classes, Lara holds certificates in youth yoga from both Sellwood Yoga and Kidding Around Yoga (TM). She also enjoys leading chair yoga classes with elders.

Being in-person once again has reminded Lara of the joy of connecting with others in a movement community, often with music as an additional tool to highlight the meditative nature of yoga. Along with building community, in Lara’s classes you can expect to build your practice on a foundation of deep breaths and grounded release for your body, mind and spirit.

Besides teaching yoga, Lara holds an MS in Environmental Studies and is a water scientist supporting water quality in Oregon. She enjoys caring for her two daughters, being in the out-of-doors, and learning.
