“I love Jess’ power yoga classes! She inspires me to push myself, but she is also very laid back. She gives a lot of options for modifications if you want to take things a little easier. I always leave her classes feeling super refreshed and like I got a great workout. If you need to take some deep breaths, sweat a little bit (or a lot!), and have fun doing it, Jess’ classes are perfect!”
Instructor
Jess Nason is a 200-hour YTT certified yoga instructor and has been teaching yoga since 2014. She originally started practicing yoga as a form of exercise however over time realized that yoga was her path towards self-love and self-acceptance.
Her classes will challenge you, mind and body, as she incorporates functional movement, breathing techniques, and yoga postures into each of them. Her teaching style is alignment-based and upbeat with a strong anatomical understanding which allows for modification and adaptation of the practice as needed. She believes that yoga is for everyone and so her teaching style reflects that—yoga for the people. Her ultimate goal is for everyone in her classes to feel welcome, worthy, and capable.
Jess also is a practicing physical therapist in the Portland community. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Vermont in 2018 and currently works at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital as a pediatric physical therapist. In her own life, she uses yoga, meditation, and breath work as powerful tools for balancing all other aspects. Jess lives in Sellwood and enjoys hiking, baking, biking, and SUPing around Oregon when not teaching or practicing.
“I truly enjoy starting my week with Jess and the Power vinyasa class. It gets the blood pumping with amazing energy and spirit. She always offers great modifications to the poses if you are feeling it that evening “
