Don’t miss out on Savonn and Sellwood Yoga’s tradition and ritual of honoring equinoxes and solstices through celebratory yoga practices. The classes are lovely ways to connect to the rhythms of the year and to build and celebrate friendships and personal growth.
The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year. Internal inquiry toward gratitude, blessings and intuition will help to connect to this season of vitality, vibrancy, brightness and light.
The extended practice will be a mix of fiery and energetic vinyasa sequences, based on sun salutations, and other creative sets of poses to keep the flow of inspiration and challenge lively and invigorating. There will be time at the end to settle and cool down with nurturing and restorative poses.
Yummy refreshments will be shared for those who want to stay a little longer.
In the words of a Sellwood Yoga student and certified yoga instructor: “Savonn holds a deep knowledge of intricate movements of the body and is brilliant at offering up the most creative of asana variations and flows. Hers classes are classes of detail, awareness and mindfulness. Her ability to clearly articulate and break down the movements and seamlessly weave in the unexpected keeps classes challenging, inspiring and fun.
Her ability to be herself, to laugh, tell stories and share her own experiences creates for an open and heartfelt connection. Her un-attachment to the “rules” and encouragement in being attuned to working withint the boundaries of your own unique body are liberating.”
