Teachers:
Melanie Everett

Having always been inspired by the body’s innate creative expression of spirit, Melanie was introduced to yoga while studying dance in her teenage years. A transition to dedicated, daily practice soon followed, leading to the boundless depths of personal transformation and self realization that she feels Yoga allows.
Melanie sees Yoga as an opportunity to explore the mind/body connections so alive in each individual, encouraging more integration, consciousness, and breath, both on and off the mat. With every class, she aspires to motivate more connection with the ebb and flow of nature’s rhythms through breathwork, physical postures, and mindfulness practices.
As a teacher of the past 10 years, she has been highly influenced by her studies with the Pattabhi Jois family while in India, as well as Max Strom, Anodea Judith, and the abundant extraordinary fellow yoga teachers of her Portland community.
She currently lives in the Sellwood neighborhood, attending the National College of Natural Medicine in pursuit of her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine while enjoying the many adventures in parenthood with her beloved partner, Josh, and their new baby boy, Kavi.
