Teachers:
Kirsten Bracht

Kirsten began practicing yoga, Reiki, and meditation as alternative healing modalities in 2006.

She realized that she needed to share what she had discovered with others so she relocated from a small farming community in the Midwest to the Pacific Northwest. She received her 200 hour teacher training certification at the Nosara Yoga Institute in Nosara, Costa Rica.  A year later she completed a 100 hour certification at Potentials Yoga Studio in Portland, where she learned the fundamentals of Viniyoga.  Currently, Kirsten is actively working towards obtaining her 500 hour certification through the Bhaktishop, also in Portland.

Kirsten became a Street Yoga volunteer in 2008.  Bringing yoga to homeless or at-risk youth has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of her life.  She also began teaching yoga in elementary schools and pre-schools and completed training through Yoga Calm’s Integrated Approach to Wellness for Children.  In addition to teaching youth, Kirsten teaches chair yoga to seniors, gentle yoga to older adults or students who are recovering from injuries or are new to yoga, and prenatal yoga to moms to be at Alma Midwifery.

When not studying, teaching, or practicing yoga, Kirsten provides relaxation and healing through Reiki.   She became a Reiki Master in 2010 and created her own business, called The Art of Ki, where she also provides private yoga sessions and classes.
